I was born in Vancouver, BC, Canada, but at the age of 6 or 7 my family moved to Indonesia where I spent about 13 years of my life. As long as I can remember, I have always been in love with music and dance. My parents introduced me to the world of music at the age of three, when I began piano lessons. As I got older I also took guitar and drum lessons, and even minored in drums at a 1-year music program at age 16. I didn't stick to classical music as my only genre, but stepped into the pop scene. I've been in several bands performing everything from pop to rock cover songs and even originals. I just love being on the stage! It's such an adrenaline rush to perform in front of people and see them dancing and going wild to the music!
Anyway, while finishing high school through correspondence, I started college, where I earned my Commercial Music Diploma in 2001. At the same time, I became familiar to music production when I got a job as an assistant engineer at a small recording studio. There I lived and breathed audio programs, plug-ins, set-ups,... you name it! Performing music is the absolute best, but it's also great to be able to record other artists and be a part of their music.
I'm a musician, yet no stranger to the world of dance. I've done ballet, hip-hop, and choreographed dance (for lack of a better term). I remember making dance steps and teaching them to my little brother when I was about 9. I can't believe he actually learned them and danced them with me!! When I was 17, I became Coordinator of a dance group and we performed at weddings, special events, and even entered some competitions. Sometimes I don't know whether I'd rather dance or play music! Well, I guess I've done both sometimes...
But, back to the music industry… While working at the recording studio, I became very familiar with the wonders of PCs – the hardware, the software, and the BSODs. Instead of getting fed up with it, I became very interested in computers, so I went back to college and took Computer Information Systems. People have always asked me how I ended up going to school for computers when I have always been so influenced in the arts. Well, there ya go, you got the story now! So now I'm working as a computer tech and am proud to be A+, HP, and Toshiba Certified!
OK, well that kinda sums up my musical and technical sides. Thanks for bearing with me; I know I'm pretty bad when it comes to talking about myself. But thanks for listening and I hope you enjoy your visit to my site!
